• Constructed from lightweight riveted aluminum tubing for a strong and lightweight rigid structure.
• Compatible with both medium and large USGI ALICE field packs.
• External-frame design helps keep the rucksack load supported away from the wearer's back and provides good stability under heavier loads.
• Compatible with both LC-1 and LC-2 style suspension components.
• Designed to work with the detachable ALICE cargo support shelf, allowing bulky equipment to be carried directly on the frame. IE: Ammo cans, large water jugs, logs for camping etc.
• Open-frame construction allows air circulation between the wearer and the rucksack, helping reduce heat buildup during extended use.
• Rigid frame helps transfer part of the carried load through the waist/kidney pad and hips rather than placing the entire load on the shoulders.
• Simple construction makes the frame easy to inspect, clean, repair, and replace individual suspension components. Frames can bend under heavy use and excessive handling but can be bent back to shape. This is a benefit over modern plastic frames which once they break, they have to be replaced.
• Standard USGI frames are commonly finished in black, grey and green protective coatings.
• We have variants with and without shoulder straps/waist pads available.
